Live Events Reinsurance Scheme

DCMS has announced that the Live Events Reinsurance Scheme will end as originally planned on the 30th September 2022, in line with the Government’s Living with Covid Plan. The Scheme will be kept under review should there be any major changes to the wider public health context. The official announcement is attached.

In consultations with DCMS, BVEP and other Industry bodies had asked for an extension of the Scheme until Spring 2023. The Scheme has so far delivered well over £100 million of cover to a wide range of events up and down the country, supporting over £400 million of investment in live events.

DCMS has advised that they are not currently planning to publish the evidence gathered as part of their Spring Review. Their work to evaluate the Scheme is ongoing and will be made public when complete, which they expect to be Spring 2023.
