MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® with Red Carnation Hotels

news

As a family-owned business – and a love story with South African roots – we care deeply about sustainability, conservation and the global communities we are part of. Travel is a precious gift that creates inspiration, awareness and unforgettable memories… With that comes the responsibility to make a difference and leave a positive impact on the incredible places we visit.

This Earth Day, I am honoured to shine a light on our commitment to sustainability and responsible travel by highlighting the steps we are taking to meet the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals and to MAKE TRAVEL MATTER®.

We are proud to partner with The TreadRight Foundation alongside the TTC family of brands. Red Carnation Hotels has pledged to honour a five-year sustainability strategy, with people, wildlife and the planet as core pillars for protection. We’re reducing food waste and eliminating unnecessary single-use plastics, making moves towards using 100% renewable energy, protecting Cape Mountain Zebras and rock art sites in Africa, growing our own ingredients and nurturing our hotel honey bee hives, and more. We aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 or sooner.

We are delighted to host a carefully curated selection of MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experiences, which have each been endorsed by industry experts. From wild food foraging, to beekeeping, to preserving ancient rock art, these exclusive experiences are designed to leave a positive impact on local communities and advance the Development Goals set out by the United Nations.
