Richmond Hill Hotel brings its 150th anniversary celebrations to an end with array of community initiatives

Richmond Hill Hotel, located in the heart of Richmond, is marking the close of its 150th anniversary celebrations after successfully completing its 150-inspired community goals.

To commemorate the significant milestone, the Georgian hotel set out objectives at the start of the year, with the focus on giving back to the local community.

Throughout 2024, the team at Richmond Hill Hotel, led by General Manager Diane Tapner-Evans, planted 150 trees via the National Trust, donated 150 afternoon teas to local charities and community organisations, and donated 150kg of items to the Shooting Stars Trust, one of the hotel’s nominated charity partners.

Employees from all departments of the hotel spent more than 150 hours volunteering throughout the community including litter picks in Richmond Park as well as taking part in Be Richmond’s annual litter pick with Habitats & Heritage.

Afternoon teas were donated to Vineyard Community, Age UK’s Twickenham Centre, Richmond Rotary Club Action and Shooting Star Children’s Hospice.

Celebrations also included giving all staff members a £150 summer bonus, increasing the ‘employee of the month’ prize to £150 of gift vouchers and offering guests the chance to stay for £150, along with anniversary themed cocktails and a free glass of fizz with every afternoon tea at its restaurant, 144 On The Hill

Charlotte Alldis, Marketing Director at Richmond Hill Hotel said: “It has been an incredible year at Richmond Hill Hotel, celebrating 150 years of being part of the community.

“To do this, we knew we wanted to give back as much as we could to the invaluable charities and organisations on our doorstep so I’m thrilled that we achieved our 150th goals.

“I’m really proud of the full team who have made this possible, it’s such a big achievement.”

Poised atop Richmond Hill with an incomparable view, once named as ‘one of the finest prospects in the world’ by Charles P. Moritz, Richmond Hill Hotel combines a fusion of urban vibrancy and serene British nature.
