Wyboston Lakes Resort shortlisted for two trophies at prestigious Conference & Events Awards

Award winning conference, training and leisure venue Wyboston Lakes Resort has been judged one of the best conference venues in the country and among the most sustainable.

The resort’s impressive Woodlands Event Centre has been selected by judges of the highly coveted Conference & Events Awards as a finalist for Best Conference / Event Venue (500-1200 Theatre Style) and the resort’s ‘Sustainability Without Limits: Doing the Right Thing Together’ for the Sustainability Award for Venues.

Marketing Director and Sustainability Lead Louisa Watson said: “It is a great achievement and honour to be a finalist for two such prestigious awards. and it is wonderful recognition of the superb quality of our facilities and our continuing commitment to our mantra of ‘More Sustainable, No Apology.’

The Woodlands Event Centre is designed to meet the needs of the latest generation of delegates and event organisers and is highly popular with conferences and events for many sectors including financial services, pharmaceutical and associations.

To enhance the experience for delegates and make their events more memorable, conference organisers are encouraged to give visitors the opportunity to ‘Experience More’, whether that is nature walks around the resort’s 380 acres, outdoor team building on its lakes, trying the 18 hole golf course or the Pinseekers Driving Range, or relaxing with outdoor events and festivals at Sandpiper Bay.

The resort’s commitment to sustainability has been independently accredited by earning gold awards from the Green Tourism Awards and the IACC, and EcoSmart Platinum Venue Award from Greengage Solutions. The Resort recently published its comprehensive and detailed ESG Impact Report on its activities in 2024. 

Among its sustainability initiatives last year, the Resort installed 3,200 solar panels which are providing 1.4MWh per year of renewable energy and its Room2Grow scheme will see more than 60,000 trees planted on the resort. Its new Room2Give initiative has raised nearly £7000 for local organisations in its first three months.

The results of the Conference & Events Awards 2025 will be announced on 27 June at Evolution London in Battersea Park.
