  • VAT Study Please click here for the summary VAT report that we have undertaken with UK Hospitality, BBPA and AVLA which highlights the benefits to the UK economy of retaining the 12.5% VAT rate. This is especially important given todays announcement that energy costs will increase by 52% and inflation will increase to over 7% by April. An additional increase in tourism and hospitality prices of 7.5% on 1st April when consumers are suffering a cost of living crisis will significantly suppress the recovery of the UK tourism industry. Also attached is a copy of the press release that has gone out on this issue.
  • Future of Aviation Inquiry

The Aviation APPG has launched an inquiry into the recovery of the British aviation, travel and tourism sectors and the UK economy. This inquiry will investigate the UK aviation, travel, and tourism sectors’ recovery from the COVID19 pandemic and the role of aviation, travel, and tourism in supporting the UK economy post COVID, in particular the ambitions to level up different regions of the UK and deliver a Global Britain. Please click here for the briefing document for the Inquiry which includes the specific questions that the APPG is seeking to address.

I will be sending in a Tourism Alliance submission but if you would like to send in your own evidence the deadline is 17:00 on Thursday 10th March and the email address to send it to is info@futureofaviationgroup.org.uk
