Simplified business visitor rules: seeking sector views

To make it easier and more attractive to do business in the UK, the government announced at the March Budget that it will simplify business visitor rules expanding the range of short-term business activities that can be carried out for periods of up to 6 months and reviewing permitted paid engagements

DCMS is currently gathering evidence to assess what the most effective changes might look like for our sectors (with thanks to UKVENTS for their support to date). Partners or their members are invited to put forward proposals for any specific changes to either a) the short-term business activities and/or b) the list of permitted paid engagements.

Please advise Gaelle (info@ukevents.org.uk)  of any particular proposals and evidence/ examples by close Wednesday 10th May. High level indications at this stage are fine.

The Coronation

DCMS are regularly asked for examples of how the UK’s national events are supporting the visitor economy. If you or your members have any particular examples or statistics of the impact of this coming weekend and Their Majesties’ Coronation please do send them to Gaelle so they may be passed to DCMS..
