From the age of 16 years old, Krishna Pastakia has lived and breathed Hospitality. Starting off her career by studying Hospitality and Catering at Wigan and Leigh College,

Krishna then graduated from the University of Wales, Institute Cardiff with a degree in International Hospitality Management. Krishna’s professional path led her to work with renowned Hospitality brands including Holiday Inn Wembley, Doubletree by Hilton Westend and Victoria, Staybridge Suites Birmingham, and Hampton by Hilton Birmingham. Within these roles, Krishna gained valuable hands-on experience and insight into the diverse world of sales and the hospitality industry.

Since joining Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre, which is owned by the University of Birmingham, Krishna began her journey two years ago as a Hotel Sales Manager. Her exceptional dedication and can-do attitude allowed her to progress into the newly created role of Director of Sales in July 2023.

Krishna has driven the meetings and events forecast to exceed budgeted levels for 2023, securing commercial partnerships and contributing to the success of the hotel’s best financial year to date.

Krishna’s commitment to sustainable practices is evident in her leadership of the Green Tourism project at Edgbaston Park Hotel. By working with key senior managers, the hotel achieved a gold accreditation for Green Meeting and is now one of only 17 conference venues in the UK demonstrating top-level sustainability initiatives within the industry.  

To add her to impressive list of accomplishments, Krishna has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards this year including Rising Star of the Year at the Midlands Food Drink and Hospitality Awards and the mia List Individual Award 2023.

The hotel is home to 185 bedrooms and three self-catered apartments, all complete with plush interiors and the essentials you need for a great night’s sleep. From stylish suites to historic houses there’s a venue to suit all sorts of conferences, meetings, and events. Surrounded by beautiful grounds, there’s also plenty of outdoor space for summer parties and team building events.

All day delegate rates, include room hire, a flip chart, LCD projector and screen, mineral water, high speed internet access, stationery on request (including note pads, pencils), unlimited tea and coffee, a working buffet or two course hot and cold buffet and on-site parking.

Edgbaston Park Hotel also achieved gold standard for Greener Meetings by Green Tourism, putting it in the top 10% of sustainable venues, recognising how the team has worked conscientiously to make its operations greener. All single-use plastic has been removed, conference attendees are encouraged to travel via public transport and encouraged to take part in wellbeing activities.
