Sustainability proves to be a winning solution for Eventurous

Putting sustainability at the heart of its business plants has led to corporate event management company, Eventurous having its busiest ever year increasing turnover and securing new clients.

Although the company has long been an advocate of green policies, measures taken in the past year have made it a more sustainable business.

Earlier this year the company installed EV chargers for use by clients and staff at its head office in Warwickshire and believes that this helped it secure business from automotive clients.  Eventurous secured a high profile, multi-day event from Jeep where the manufacturer launched its electric Jeep Avenger models to UK dealers.

Eventurous was prompted to install the EV chargers by independent sustainability experts, Greengage Solutions.

Despite having a long and impressive track record in sustainability, Eventurous’ efforts had never been independently audited or received recognised accreditation.  To address this, it opted to work with Greengage to work towards Greengage’s ECOSmart accreditation that has been specially designed for hospitality and event providers.

The accreditation process enabled Eventurous to identify further improvements and implement measures such as removing single use plastics, introducing Greengage’s ECOSmart carbon calculator for corporate events and offering clients the opportunity to offset carbon emissions.

Corporate clients now have access to more activities from the team building experts, with a green focus on such as supporting client CSR objectives and offering sustainable team building. iPad treasure hunts, using iPads charged with solar power, are a great example, with just a single Event Manager required to run, travel using public transport and no need for attendees to travel, only by foot, makes this event highly carbon efficient. The experts at Eventurous also have a plethora of engaging virtual events available, from Gameshows to Murder Mystery. New indoor team building activities like The Lost Pages, have been developed with sustainability in mind and therefore use only re-useable, durable, and limited equipment.

Achieving ECOSmart accreditation has been just the start of a long-term partnership between Eventurous and Greengage to help the company continue the drive to be greener and more socially responsible.

Eventurous started on the road to being greener back in 2007.  Over the years, owners Joe and Joanna Garland, have implemented many green initiatives such planting a wildflower meadow, planting 12,000 trees and all the company’s energy comes from solar panels installed on site and renewable sources.  The company has saved the equivalent of over 10,000 newly planted trees in carbon emissions.

Sustainability champion, Ellie Cashmore of Eventurous comments: “Although the environment has always been a focus for us, we found that having the ECOSmart accreditation has given us the impetus to broaden our efforts, develop new event formats  and make our existing portfolio more sustainable.  We’re truly excited about continuing our sustainability journey.”

Andrew Perolls, CEO of Greengage Solutions, comments: “When we started working with Eventurous the company already had sustainability at the heart of its business and was a pioneer in the events sector.   We’re delighted to have been able to help them build on their great work and suggest other measures that can continue to give them the edge.”
