The MAC are currently consutling on a three questions:

1. Whether to change the salary qualifcation criteria for inclusion on the SOL
2. Which occupations on the current SOL should continue to be included and which should be removed
3. Whether to recategorise some jobs at a higher qualiufiucaton level (RQF level 3) in order for them to be included in the list, and exceptionally whether any jobs at RQF 1 and 2 level might be included.

Further information and guidance about the call for evidence and the SOL more broadly can be found on the consultation webpage. The consultation closes on 26th May 2023.

If your organisation is intending to make a case for inclusion for jobs in your sector, please do let us know.     A new permitted development right for temporary campsites?  The Department of Levelling-Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) is consulting on a possible new permitted development right. These are rights that landowners have to do things on or with their land without needing local authority planning permission. The proposal is to allow the temporary use of land for recreational campsites to include the placing of tents and movable structures to provide facilities such as toilets.

There would be some limitations – a maximum of 30 tents, and for no more than 60 days in a calendar year.

The consultation details are available here and it closes on 25 April.

It is likely that the TA will submit evidnece to this consultation, so please do feed in your thoughts and evidence to us so we can include it and ensure it is representative of our members.      Tourism Alliance AGM – 7 June.
