Whately Hall, Banbury, Oxfordshire, Reopens Under New Management

Tulip Hotels and Real Estate is excited to announce the acquisition and long-awaited reopening of the historic Whately Hall Hotel in Banbury town centre. The hotel will be managed by leading UK hotel management company Countrywide Hotels who advise on all matters of hotel ownership from acquisition to the day-to-day.

Alongside the new owner, Whately Hall also welcomes a new General Manager, Leigh Gerard, who arrives with over a decade’s experience in hotel management.

Managing Director of Countrywide Hotels, Darren Patt said “Having acquired Whately Hall during its period of closure, I am excited to welcome the people of Banbury, and guests from further afield back to the hotel. I understand how important the hotel is to the town of Banbury, as a landmark, but more importantly, as a place for people to come together. Our new team, led by our new General Manager Leigh, want to embrace the local community, and we hope that they will be there to support us moving forward as we reopen.”

Dating back to 1677, Whately Hall Hotel boasts many original features such as stone passages, priests’ holes, and a fine wooden staircase. Spacious public areas include the oak-panelled restaurant, which overlooks the attractive well-tended gardens, a choice of lounges and our opulent art deco style Berkeley’s Bar and Restaurant.

The 17th-century building now features 69 ensuite bedrooms, some overlooking the walled gardens, a variety of meeting and conference spaces, and flexible spaces to host special occasions.

The hotel also offers a stunning backdrop to welcome your friends and family for your dream wedding. Large or small, the Whately Hall Hotel team aim to make your wedding perfect, thanks to a wide range of packages available to suit every requirement.
