Double celebrations for Edgbaston Park Hotel

It took the University Hotel Award at the U Dine Awards 2024, and won Hotel of the Year at last week’s Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality (MFDH) Awards. The hotel was also shortlisted for MFDH’s Venue of the Year.

The U Dine Awards celebrate excellence and innovation within the university hospitality sector, acknowledging institutions that set the highest standards in service, facilities, and guest experiences. The MFDH Awards is a region-wide celebration of the great work done within the food, drink and hospitality industry – the people and venues that help put the Midlands on the map.

To win awards at both events places Edgbaston Park Hotel amongst the industry’s very best. This year’s victories are particularly significant though as they follow the hotel’s shortlisting for the same U Dine award in 2023, as well as its recognition as ‘Hotel of the Year’ at last year’s MFDH Awards.

It’s testament to the hotel’s unwavering commitment to providing outstanding customer service and hospitality to University of Birmingham staff and students, as well as its local community. Edgbaston Park Hotel is proudly people-focused, something which is undoubtedly key to its success.

Billy Harris, Director of Commercial at the hotel, said: ‘It’s a fantastic achievement, particularly for an independent hotel, and wonderful recognition of the work we’ve done to increase sustainability, strengthening our excellent team and building our commercial success.’

Other achievements in the past 12 months include:

Richard Metcalfe, CEO at Edgbaston Park Hotel, commented, ‘This team puts our guests at the very heart of what they do. I’m incredibly proud to work with such a talented, caring group of people and this is thoroughly deserved recognition of the work they put in every day’. Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre continues to lead the industry with its luxurious accommodation, state-of-the-art conference and event facilities, and a focus on guest experience. These awards reinforce the hotel’s position as a top hospitality destination in Birmingham and the wider Midlands region.
