It is a real honour to take on the role of Chair of beam, an association that plays a vital role across the business events, accommodation and meetings sector.

I would like to thank Louisa for her leadership and commitment, along with the board, for the time and energy they give to beam. The association has been built on collaboration, now bringing together agents, venues, suppliers and partners, and that principle will continue to guide us.

My focus as Chair is on strengthening relationships, ensuring beam remains relevant and influential, and members feel represented, supported, and engaged.

beam has a strong voice, and it’s important that we continue to use it effectively by working closely with industry bodies and government on the issues that matter most to our sector.

Having been part of beam for many years, I have seen the value it brings through shared knowledge, meaningful connections and a genuine sense of community. That strength comes from members getting involved and contributing to the conversation.

I encourage you to engage with fellow members and the board wherever you can, whether that is attending events, sharing ideas or joining one of our action groups. These groups play a vital role in shaping the direction of beam and provide a practical way to collaborate with industry peers.

Our events calendar offers a wide range of opportunities to connect, learn and come together as an industry, and I hope to see many of you over the year ahead.
