Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel Wins Big at Accor & Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA Awards

Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel has once again solidified its position as a leader in the hospitality industry, taking home two prestigious accolades at the 2024 Accor & Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA  Awards. The hotel was named the winner of the Most Improved RPS Score 2024 vs 2023 for the second consecutive year and was also honoured with the Best Breakfast Score 2024. Adding to this momentous achievement, Mercure Manchester Piccadilly has been announced as the highest-performing Mercure hotel in the UK for guest scores, ranking #1 out of 58 hotels. This outstanding accomplishment is a testament to the dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment of the entire team to delivering an exceptional guest experience.

The Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel has consistently raised the bar for guest satisfaction. The recognition for Most Improved RPS Score highlights the hotel’s continued focus on enhancing guest experiences, while the Best Breakfast Score award cements its reputation for offering an unparalleled dining experience.

Ryan Young, Sales Manager at West End Events, praised the hotel, stating: “Flawless is how I would describe the Mercure. At every stage, it was very much a joint venture. When small challenges arose, it was quickly and easily resolved with their help.”

David Anderson, Divisional President – EMEA, Aimbridge Hospitality, commented: “The double-digit increase in Mercure’s metric performance was achieved with passion, focus, and determination across the whole team. An amazing achievement, not least because it was also delivered whilst navigating significant refurbishment activity across the hotel.”

In 2023, the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel embarked on a £3 million refurbishment, transforming not only its facilities but also its service standards and overall guest experience. The investment revitalized its 280 bedrooms and reception area, while a forward-thinking commercial strategy, innovative reward schemes, and specialized training programs empowered the team to exceed guest expectations.

This transformation led to measurable success, as evidenced by outstanding performance metrics:

  • 9.8% year-on-year total revenue growth, surpassing the initial 3% target.
  • 50% increase in pipeline revenue year over year.
  • 12.7% improvement in guest reputation scores, earning the title of most improved Accor hotel in EMEA.
  • Double-digit growth in Guest Service Score for the second year running.
  • Winner of the prestigious Conference & Events Award for Best Venue Customer Service, highlighting its client-first approach.
  • Officially the Best Performing Mercure Hotel in the UK (Ranked #1 out of 58 hotels) as of January 2025.

Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel’s success story is far from over. With a relentless pursuit of excellence, the hotel remains committed to delivering unparalleled guest experiences and further strengthening its position as a leader in the UK hospitality market.
