beam has appointed Katie Niland, Commercial Director at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, to its Board of Directors. The appointment was announced at beam’s Spring All Members Meeting, held at the Cumberland Hotel in London on Tuesday 28 April.

Katie joins the Board with a focus on supporting beam’s work across industry exhibitions, bringing with her a wealth of hands-on experience from across the events and hospitality industry.

Commenting on her appointment, Katie Niland said:

“I am honoured, personally and professionally, to be joining the beam Board at a time when our industry continues to evolve and adapt. With many years’ experience in the events and hospitality sector, I’ve seen first-hand the importance of strong leadership, collaboration, and shared standards in helping the industry thrive.

“beam has long played a vital role in bringing the sector together, advocating for its value, and championing best practice across events, accommodation, and meetings. I’ve always admired the calibre of professionals on the Board and the work they do to represent and progress the industry. Joining now is an opportunity to give back, share my experience, and support initiatives that strengthen the sector, raise its profile, and benefit our members.”

David Tremmil, Chair of beam, said:

“It’s great to welcome Katie to the Board. She brings real depth of experience from across our sector, and particularly valuable insight into our industry exhibitions, which is an important area for us to develop and increase beam’s exposure.

“As an association, it’s important we continue to reflect the breadth of the industry we represent and elevate our brand presence. Katie’s perspective, energy and collaborative approach will be a strong addition to the Board, and I’m looking forward to working with her.”
