Greengage expands ECOsmart sustainability certification network globally

Greengage Solutions has announced continued international expansion of its ECOsmart sustainability certification programme, with certified hotels and venues now operating across the UK, Europe, the USA and Asia, alongside the first Australian venues progressing towards certification.

The growth marks an important milestone for ECOsmart, which has evolved from a UK-focused certification framework into an increasingly global standard for sustainable hotels, venues and event suppliers. Alongside ECOsmart certified hotels now operating in destinations including Rome, Lisbon, Zurich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Washington DC, additional properties currently progressing through the certification process are in locations including Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates, Denver, Boston, Oslo, Madrid, Singapore, Vancouver, Stockholm, Sydney, Nashville, and New Delhi.

Designed specifically for the hotel, meetings, events and business travel sectors, ECOsmart provides independent sustainability certification aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, helping organisations measure and improve performance through a structured and transparent framework.

Andrew Perolls, CEO of Greengage Solutions, said: “As organisations place greater focus on sustainability within their venue and hotel sourcing strategies, there is increasing demand for standards that can be applied consistently across multiple markets.

The continued international growth of ECOsmart helps support agencies and corporates managing global event and accommodation programmes by providing access to independently certified venues across a growing number of destinations.”

Greengage says the expanding international ECOsmart network is helping simplify sustainability benchmarking and reporting for organisations seeking greater visibility and consistency across their global event activities.

ECOsmart certification is available to hotels, venues and suppliers operating across the meetings, accommodation and events sectors worldwide.
