Church House Westminster reports strong H1 as it eyes robust year ahead

Iconic London events venue, Church House Westminster, has announced a strong first half of the year.

The team welcomed more than 17,600 delegates during the first half of 2026 as Church House hosted a total of 175 events. These ranged from award ceremonies to multi-day conferences, demonstrating the breadth of events hosted at the Grade II listed venue.

Charity gala events have performed particularly strongly, with the venue almost doubling the number of charity event bookings compared with the same period last year. Welcoming a total of 21 charity events between January and June this year, Church House saw more than 3,400 delegates walk through its doors, more than double the number during the same period in 2025 (1,300). The increase reflects growing demand for fundraisers, seeking central London venues that combine heritage, sustainability credentials and flexible event spaces.

And it’s not just new business the venue is excelling with, but its client retention rate sits at a healthy 64% with feedback praising outstanding customer service across the venue team.

As well as strong commercial performance, the venue has continued to receive industry recognition, having been shortlisted for the London Venue & Catering Awards in two categories: Best Event Venue Under 750 Attendees and the Sustainability Award for Venues. As well as winning Silver for Best Historic Venue at the Christmas Party Awards, and again in the sustainability category at the Cool Event and most recently winning Silver for Best Venue at the Conference and Venue Awards.

The positive momentum sets Church House up for a strong second half of the year, supported by nearly £400,000 of planned and completed venue improvements during 2026. These include enhancements to the Dean’s Yard entrance, cloakroom facilities, wayfinding and sustainability initiatives, alongside a major £300,000 investment in AV and production technology, featuring new LED screens, a modular stage set and an Analog Way Aquilon system (Video switcher).

The venue will also announce the total amount raised for charity through its quarterly ESG-themed client competitions, designed to encourage more sustainable event choices. Clients making sustainability commitments, such as selecting a fully plant-based menu or going paperless with digital event collateral, are entered into a prize draw, with Church House donating £1 to charity for every delegate attending the winning event. The initiative builds on the venue’s wider ESG strategy, following its achievement of net zero status in 2024, six years ahead of its original target

Marina Papadopoulou, Head of Sales and Marketing at Church House Westminster, said: “We’re thrilled with the interest in the venue and our strong conversion rates so far this year. A successful first half gives us real momentum as we turn our attention to the busy Christmas party and winter conference season.

“It’s particularly encouraging to see continued growth across both the corporate and charity sectors, alongside increasing demand for sustainable event solutions.

This success is a testament to the dedication of our venue, operations and sales teams, who go above and beyond to deliver exceptional experiences for every client and guest.  Seeing organisations return to Church House year after year is one of the strongest measures of that success.”
