Clarity surpasses £100k charity milestone

Clarity is immensely proud to have reached its £100,000 charity goal for Macmillan after a decade of fundraising activities.

The leading TMC initially set itself a target in 2017 of £50k, then pushed it to 65k, before realising that £100k could be a challenging, yet realistically ambitious target.

“Prior to this, we had supported a variety of charitable causes and fundraising activities, but without a long-term strategy, or consistent way of measuring the funds raised, we couldn’t truly see the impact we were making,” explained Kate Wolstenholme, Director of Marketing – Brighter, who led Clarity’s fundraising journey almost a decade ago.

“By focusing our efforts on a single charity partner over several years and establishing clear fundraising goals, we could bring our people together behind a shared purpose, build stronger engagement across the business, and maximise the impact of our fundraising and support.”

Macmillan was chosen as the charity partner following an internal company-wide survey, where it quickly became clear that it was a cause that resonated deeply across the business.

“Almost everyone had a personal connection to Macmillan, either through their own experiences or through friends, family members, or colleagues who had received support during challenging times. That shared connection and passion made the decision a natural one. We wanted to partner with a charity that our people genuinely cared about and one where we could make a meaningful, long-term impact as a business, rather than supporting individual initiatives on an ad hoc basis,” Kate continued.

From taking on Mighty Hikes, climbing mountains and running marathons to jumping out of airplanes, hosting fashion shows and baking (and eating!) plenty of cakes, people from every department have got involved to embrace every opportunity to raise funds for this fantastic cause.

“It’s amazing to reflect on how far we’ve come. What began as a simple ‘let’s see how much we can raise’ quickly became a determination to do more, achieve more and make an even bigger difference.

This milestone is a testament to the passion, generosity and commitment of so many people over the years. From every cake baked, even during Covid, to every Mighty Hike completed, every donation and hour volunteered has helped us reach this incredible total. I couldn’t be prouder to be part of a team that continues to make such a meaningful impact.”

The money Clarity has raised is equivalent to helping pay for a Macmillan Nurse for 16 months, helping the Welfare Rights Team Support Line for 6 days or assist the Macmillan support line for 150 hours – reaching on average 2,108 people.

The company continues to raise money for Macmillan, recently raising an additional £464 with the annual September ‘coffee mornings’ across their office locations.

Alongside volunteering, fundraising activities like this is just one of the ways Clarity createsmeaningful social value that supports the company’s wider CSR objectives and commitment to making a positive difference in the communities where they live and work.
