Conference Care Demonstrates Sustainability Credentials with Latest Certification Award

Conference Care first became ECOsmart certified back in 2021. This year, the venue-finding and event management agency is going from strength to strength as it gains re-certification for 2024.

The Greengage ECOsmart award is one of the only certifications that recognises sustainable agencies in the event industry. With sustainability being a huge topic of discussion and of vital importance to the sector, Conference Care take huge pride in this achievement.

The process to achieve the award is rigorous. It includes exercises, not only about how businesses affect the climate, but about the threat climate change poses to business.

Commenting on the award, Pauline Beattie, Sales Director at Conference Care said:  “We’re super proud that we’ve maintained the high standards we set for ourselves and continue to build on them. Being recognised as a sustainable conference and events agency means we’re in a position to work with other sustainable organisations. It’s great to be part of the ECOsmart community to share in best practice and learn from each other!

“Our biggest takeaways from this award are that we are doing a lot to provide sustainable solutions for our customers. However, there is more we can do at our offices with the team. As a result, we’ve been looking at different sustainable schemes to implement. One of the exercises we did as part of the certification was about the threats climate change poses to us.”

Judith Dix, Sustainability Specialist at Conference Care stated that:  “Undertaking the process, we learned that we need to keep on top of how we can be more sustainable in and around our building as our team continues to grow. Balancing this with our journey to net zero will be the biggest challenge. We know there are some upcoming changes for our customers who put on events too. We want to continue to support them in monitoring and measuring their carbon footprint.

“There’s a massive shift towards making events more inclusive for people with accessibility needs. Plus, we’re already seeing extreme weather disrupt events, so part of planning for the future is considering these factors in our venue finding and event management.”

Andrew Perolls, CEO of Greengage commented: “Conference Care was the first UK agency to receive ECOsmart certification back in 2021. We are so impressed with the continual progress made year after year and the way in which they have embedded sustainability as part of the company’s DNA”.

Conference Care is an award-winning venue-finding and event management agency. They also provide digital services, congress management, accommodation, and Carbon Consultancy – a tool that measures your event’s carbon footprint and provides advice and support to reduce it.
