IET London: Savoy Place launch new sustainable menus

Discover our brand new menus for Autumn Winter, in partnership with renowned caterers Searcys, where taste and sustainability go hand in hand.

The delectable menus have been meticulously designed to provide event planners with insight into the environmental impact of different foods and beverages. Allowing for more informed catering decisions, each mouthwatering dish is labelled with a ‘green’ rating, calculated by an independent analysis system. The ratings span from A – E based on the CO2equ produced per serving, with A being the most sustainable choice.

Food and beverage suppliers have been chosen based on their excellent quality and environmental credibility. For example, the venue now uses Notes coffee, sourced from Daterra (a carbon-negative coffee producer), with whom it launched The Roas-tree Club. A sustainability initiative that promises to plant and maintain one tree for the next decade for every 20kg of coffee purchased, Savoy Place is expecting to contribute to the planting of nearly 200 trees annually.

Lemonaid Beverages has also been chosen for its delicious soft drinks and 100% Fairtrade, organic, and natural ingredients. With every bottle sold, the company donates 5p to the Lemonaid and ChariTea Foundation. With over £7 million raised to date, the foundation uses this money to fund social projects.

The substantial range of dining menus and packages will be available for all small meetings and intimate dinners, as well as large banquets or celebrations from 1 October.  The addition of sustainably aware menus allows event planners to rest assured that their event is having minimal environmental impact without compromising on quality.
