First-of-its-kind integration automatically powers venues up and down around booking times, reducing energy waste, operational costs and manual effort for on-site teams.
iVvy, a global venue and event management software platform, and Lightwave, a smart lighting, power, and heating technology company, have announced a partnership that connects event scheduling directly with building energy controls — empowering stadiums, hotels, hospitality venues and function centres to operate more sustainably and reach net-zero goals.
The integration links Lightwave’s smart devices with iVvy’s booking data. When an event is scheduled, the system automatically powers up screens, AV equipment, catering appliances, and lighting ahead of time, then powers everything down when it ends with no manual intervention required.
“Our mission has always been to help businesses and households take control of their energy use. Partnering with iVvy extends this to the events industry, giving venues an easy way to operate smarter and more sustainably.”
— Jason Elliott, Chief Executive Officer, Lightwave
Already live at Edgbaston Stadium
Edgbaston Stadium, one of England’s most iconic cricket grounds and a high-volume, multi-use events venue, is among the first organisations to deploy the iVvy and Lightwave integration.
With cricket matchdays, conferences, and private events running simultaneously across different areas of the ground, the team needed energy management that could operate at that scale without adding work for staff.
“Overall, we are very happy with the Lightwave Smart Socket and iVvy integration. It has proven to be a smart, yet simple solution that delivers real value in energy and cost savings, and supports us with our sustainability targets. Everything works exactly as it should without any extra effort from teams on the ground — we saw benefits straight away, which made it easy to trust the technology and roll it out confidently.”
— Lydia Carrington, Sustainability Manager, Edgbaston Stadium
For iVvy, the stadium deployment demonstrates what the integration can deliver at scale across a complex, multi-use venue.
“This is the first integration of its kind to connect venue management and energy-saving technology. By combining iVvy’s powerful event management and automation tools with Lightwave’s leading smart energy controls, we’re helping venues take a major step forward in running events that are both efficient and sustainable.”
— Lauren Hall, CEO, iVvy
