Lime Venue Portfolio Expands UK Reach with Manchester United

Lime Venue Portfolio has announced a new relationship with Manchester United, further strengthening its collection of major UK event venues and reflecting the continued strength and growth of Manchester’s business events industry.

The new relationship means Lime Venue Portfolio will operate United Events – the dedicated non-matchday events division for Manchester United. United Events manages conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners and corporate meetings across the club’s iconic stadium, Old Trafford. Working from the “Theatre of Dreams”, the team utilises 20 suites and more than 150 meeting rooms to deliver a wide range of corporate and live event experiences within one of the world’s most recognisable sporting venues.

Many of the venue’s spaces overlook the iconic pitch, while planners can also build in exclusive experiences such as the Museum & Stadium Tour to enhance delegate programmes and create standout moments.

The scale of the venue also allows it to flex beyond traditional conferencing with capacity to host up to 8,000 hospitality guests, alongside 5,000 complimentary parking spaces and strong international connectivity via nearby Manchester Airport. More than 500 hotel rooms are also within walking distance, further strengthening its appeal for multi-day conferences and exhibitions.

Jo Austin, Sales Director, at Lime Venue Portfolio, said: “Old Trafford is one of the UK’s most iconic venues, set within one of the country’s most dynamic and fast-growing events cities. Manchester continues to strengthen its reputation as a powerhouse for conferences, exhibitions and international business tourism, and this relationship reflects that momentum.

“For Lime Venue Portfolio, this is also a meeting of two great event brands. We are bringing together the scale and heritage of Old Trafford with the reach and expertise of Lime Venue Portfolio, expanding what’s possible for our clients. As demand grows for venues that can deliver both impact and operational excellence at scale, Old Trafford is a perfect addition to our portfolio.”

Marc Armstrong, Chief Business Officer at Manchester United, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Lime Venue Portfolio as we continue to grow the profile and scale of non-matchday events at Old Trafford. Old Trafford is one of the most iconic venues in world sport, but beyond matchdays it is also a highly versatile and established choice for conferences, exhibitions, dinners and large-scale corporate events. Through this relationship, we’re looking forward to introducing even more organisers and brands to the breadth of experiences Old Trafford can offer.

Manchester continues to grow as a major events city, and with the combination of our facilities, location, hotel infrastructure and the unique experience of hosting events at Old Trafford, we believe the venue is exceptionally well placed to support that demand.”

Lime Venue Portfolio has continued to expand its collection throughout 2026, with a focus on distinctive venues that combine strong event infrastructure with memorable delegate experiences across the UK.
