Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland is proud to celebrate the exceptional recent achievements of Tia Goadby, Director of Sales, who has enjoyed a remarkable period of industry recognition while marking her two-year anniversary with the organisation. Based at the renowned Leonardo Hotel & Conference Venue Hinckley Island, Tia has played a defining role in the hotel’s continued success and reputation for excellence.
About Leonardo Hotel & Conference Venue Hinckley Island
As one of the largest residential conference hotels in the UK, Hinckley Island offers state-of-the-art event facilities, 362 bedrooms, a dedicated conference centre, and versatile spaces suited to meetings, exhibitions, and large-scale events. Its strategic Midlands location, extensive amenities, and exceptional service have established it as a leading destination for corporate gatherings and industry events.
Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland operates more than 50 hotels across the region under its Leonardo, Leonardo Royal, and NYX brands. The group is widely recognised for delivering high-quality hospitality, innovative event solutions, and a people-first culture that empowers its teams to thrive—values strongly reflected in Tia’s success.
In September, Tia spearheaded the hotel’s campaign to retain its prestigious Gold M&IT Award for Best UK Conference Centre. This achievement highlights both her strategic leadership and the hotel’s long-standing reputation as a top-tier venue within the UK meetings and events sector.
Beyond her role within the business, Tia has also made a significant impact on the wider events community. In her spare time, she co-founded the East Midlands Elite, a collective of agents, venues, and event suppliers focused on strengthening regional collaboration while raising important funds for East Midlands–based charities, reaching over £30k in it’s two years thus far. The initiative continues to gain momentum as a respected and unifying force within the industry.
Tia also dedicates her time to supporting the wider sector through her volunteer work with beam, the leading association for the business events and meetings industry. She has proudly served as a volunteer within their action groups for the past six years, contributing to industry development, education and assisting with the organising of their member events.
Last month, Tia and her fellow co-founder Clair Harper were honoured with the Special Recognition Award at the Famtastic Awards. The presentation, which came as a complete surprise to the pair, acknowledged their commitment, passion, and dedication to elevating the East Midlands as a centre of event excellence.
Continuing her trajectory of achievement, Tia was also recognised at the Meetings Industry Association’s miaList Awards at The Belfry, receiving an Individual Award. This accolade celebrates her exceptional dedication, inspiring leadership, and her consistent drive to go above and beyond in all aspects of her work.
Tia’s continued success underscores the importance of collaboration, creativity, and community within the hospitality and events sector—and reinforces her position as a respected and influential figure in the industry.
