Wyboston Lakes Resort is finalist in prestigious awards

Award winning conference, training and leisure venue Wyboston Lakes Resort has been voted as a finalist in a prestigious industry awards.

The resort has been selected for the shortlist in the Coolest Sustainable Events Venues category by judges of the Cool Events Awards.

Marketing Director and Sustainability Lead Louisa Watson said: “It is a great achievement to be a finalist for such a highly coveted award and it is wonderful recognition of our continuing commitment to our mantra of ‘More Sustainable, No Apology.’”

Among the resort’s recent sustainability activities, its Room2Give initiative has raised more than £35,000 for local organisations in its first 12 months.

Room2Give offers guests staying for more than one night the opportunity to choose to support one of three local charities instead of opting for a room clean. By displaying a colour coded door hanger selecting their preferred charity, a donation is made to the Room2Give fund.

Guests have also helped prevent a substantial amount of carbon emissions. The collective action of guests has saved the equivalent of more than 73 tonnes of carbon emissions – the same as driving over 380,000 kilometres in a petrol car.

The Woodlands Event Centre at Wyboston Lakes Resort is designed to meet the needs of the latest generation of delegates and event organisers and is highly popular with conferences and events for many sectors including financial services, pharmaceutical and associations.

The results of the Awards will be announced at a gala event in central London on 17 April.

    From an IATA airline, a GDS (e.g. Amadeus, Sabre), or a major travel industry supplier.
