Wyboston Lakes Resort manager acclaimed as role model for inclusivity in hospitality industry

Mihail Costea, Food & Beverage Manager at Wyboston Lakes Resort, has been chosen as role model for inclusivity in the hospitality and travel industries and will feature in the 2026 Retail Index produced by WiHTL & Diversity in Retail in partnership with The MBS Group.

Mihail, who joined the Bedfordshire resort in 2022 says “I ensure all team members understand the part they play in making everyone feel included and respected. From day one I make new starters feel welcomed and supported, maintain open communications and keep the team informed and involved.

“Bringing people together and enabling them to succeed as one team is what I see as true achievement.

“Recently we partnered with the local Citizen’s Hub where my department was chosen for a work placement for someone who was neurodiverse, and we were chosen because of the supportive culture we have built.

Discussing the origins of his approach, Mihail says “From an early age basketball taught me the value of working toward a shared goal, ensuring that every voice has an opportunity to be heard and every individual feels they belong.”

Katherine White, People & Culture Director at Wyboston Lakes Resort said: “This is a tremendous achievement and well-deserved recognition for Mihail. We’re very proud of him.”
