Agency Focus: Brief2Event – Growth, Agility and a Human Approach

Brief2Event

As part of our ongoing Agency Focus series, we shine a spotlight on the agencies that help shape our industry and contribute to the vibrant beam community.

This month, we catch up with Brief2Event, a long-standing beam member that has built a reputation for delivering venue finding, accommodation booking and event management services with a strong focus on customer experience. From strategic acquisitions and significant team growth to navigating industry change and embracing new ways of working, Brief2Event continues to evolve while staying true to the relationships and service that underpin its success.

We spoke to Guy Mason about their journey, the milestones that have defined their growth, the value they gain from beam membership and what the future holds for the business.

Talk to us about Brief2Event … For those that don’t know who you are, tell us about your business?

Brief2Event is a mid-size events agency specialising in venue finding, accommodation booking and event management for the corporate and association market.  We look after events of all shapes and sizes throughout the UK and overseas, with a focus on high quality customer service.  Being flexible means we’re able to offer bespoke solutions that really fit client needs.

We’re so proud of our growth, our client testimonials, our people and their continuous drive to deliver the best service to our customers.

Our size and shape mean we can be extremely agile; we are always looking for new ideas to support our customers and attract new business.

What key successes/milestones have you seen over the last few years?

Several small agency acquisitions over the past decade have built strength and depth in both team experience and client mix.  Successfully navigating covid and coming out the other side much stronger with new skills and a fresh perspective on how we do things.  We’ve implemented a robust sales and marketing strategy to ensure we’re seen, and our clear messaging makes is easy for clients to ‘buy’ our services.  Moving into larger new offices last year and re-setting our company values and manifesto to create a clear vision for our team has laid the foundations our future.  The team has grown from 5 – 25 in 5 years and our event spend has doubled.

If you could describe your agency in 3 words, what would they be?

Exciting, Ambitious, Human.

As a longstanding member, how do you feel the industry has changed, and how has beam evolved with this?

Fundamentally not that much, it’s all still about relationships, customer service and sales, but technology has re-shaped the way we work.  Trends have obviously changed over time and beam aren’t afraid to embrace and discuss what’s important to their members at any given time.

Why would you encourage other Agencies to join beam?

Sharing ideas, making connections, being part of setting best practice and driving standards.

What’s next for Brief2Event?

Continued focus on best practice, customer support, challenging the norms and looking for innovative ways to solve problems. Becoming more strategically focussed on accounts and upskilling our team. Continue to cut through the complexity that our industry often creates by delivering straightforward, practical and human centred solutions.  Sales is important to us so striving to grow the business through organic sales and further agency acquisitions.
