beam Strengthens Action Groups with Appointment of New Leads to Drive Delivery and Impact

beam has appointed new volunteers into key Action Group Lead roles, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing the effectiveness and impact of its member-led groups.

Designed to strengthen delivery across beam’s strategic pillars of resilience, innovation, ethics and quality, the Action Group Lead roles have been introduced to work in close partnership with Board Directors. This structure ensures greater alignment, accountability and momentum in achieving objectives and delivering meaningful outcomes for members.

Action Groups sit at the heart of beam’s collaborative approach, bringing together professionals from across its membership and partner network to share expertise, shape initiatives and support the association’s ongoing development.

The newly appointed volunteers are:

  • Sam Cande, 360 Consulting by Greengage, who will lead the ESG Action Group
  • Kylie Stevens, The QHotels Collection, who will support the Membership Action Group as Membership Development Lead
  • Deb Collins, The Belfry, who will support the Membership Action Group as Buddying Lead

Working closely with the relevant Board Directors, including ESG, Agency Engagement and Membership, Action Group Leads will play a pivotal role in driving activity forward, ensuring objectives are met and supporting the delivery of agreed initiatives. The introduction of these roles enables Action Groups to operate more proactively, with greater focus and consistency.

Sam Cande said:
“I’m incredibly proud to lead beam’s ESG Action Group. ESG remains one of the most important priorities for our industry, and this role provides a real opportunity to work closely with the Board and our members to turn ambition into action. I’m looking forward to driving initiatives that support members in making practical progress and creating lasting positive impact.”

Kylie Stevens said:
“A strong and engaged membership is fundamental to beam’s continued success. By working closely with the Membership Director and the wider group, I’m looking forward to helping drive initiatives that not only grow the membership but enhance its overall value and engagement.”

Deb Collins added:
“Ensuring members feel welcomed, supported and connected from the outset is incredibly important. The buddying initiative plays a key role in this, and I’m excited to help strengthen how we engage and support members throughout their journey with beam.”

David Tremmil, Chair of beam, commented:
“Our Action Groups are fundamental to how we deliver value for members, and the introduction of Action Group Leads is an important step in making them even more effective.

“I would like to thank Sam, Kylie and Deb for stepping into these roles, and also recognise the continued contribution of all our volunteers who play such an important part in the beam community.”
