Greengage and Discover the World collaborate to bring ECOsmart Certification to the Australian market

Greengage Solutions has announced a new collaboration with Discover the World to expand its ECOsmart sustainability certification programme into the Australian accommodation, travel, meetings and events market.

The collaboration marks a strategic step in extending ECOsmart’s global reach, enabling hotels and venues in Australia to access a recognised framework for measuring and improving environmental performance.

ECOsmart provides independent certification for hotels, venues and suppliers, supporting more sustainable travel and event delivery through clear standards, practical guidance, and transparent reporting. The certification process aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, helping organisations adopt a structured, credible approach to sustainability.

Through this partnership, Discover the World will represent ECOsmart locally, supporting engagement with hotels, venues, destinations and industry stakeholders across Australia.

Andrew Perolls, CEO of Greengage Solutions, commented: “Expanding ECOsmart into Australia is an important milestone for us. Partnering with Discover the World gives us strong local expertise and relationships, ensuring we can deliver meaningful impact in a new market while maintaining the integrity and consistency of the ECOsmart framework.”

Terry Smith, Head of Sales, Discover the World, added: “We’re pleased to be working with Greengage to introduce ECOsmart to Australia. There is growing demand for credible sustainability solutions within the business travel and events sector, and ECOsmart provides a clear, practical approach that aligns well with the needs of the market.”

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting the global events industry in reducing environmental impact, while making sustainability more accessible and measurable for travellers, event organisers and venues alike.
