Job Description

The event manager / facilitator position will be based at the company’s countryside offices in Warwickshire as part of an experienced events team. The successful candidate will be required to gain a full understanding of all the company’s key team building and entertainment products and services.

The role is an “end to end” events position, i.e. from initial enquiry though to event delivery and post-event follow up. As part of our events team, you will be required to learn how to take control of each of your events, from the enquiry, through pre-event planning and logistics all the way to the event day itself, ensuring appropriate feedback is taken afterwards so we can continue to perfect our events and create a stress free and exciting experience for our clients.

You will be leading on the delivery of live events and will be expected to have excellent communication skills to liaise with the client and to be able to speak in front of large groups of people on the event day.

As this role is a practical as well as organisational one, it will involve some loading and unloading of vehicles. Due to the nature of the role and unpredictability of events, late nights when working on evening events will occur.

You will need to have excellent time, resource and stakeholder management skills. This role requires close attention to detail, confident communication skills and a naturally outgoing personality. Attendance at live events, both during the day time and evenings, will be expected to ensure successful event delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• To prepare events and to liaise with clients, agents & venues in respect of the event logistics.

• To plan and deliver events independently. This will include briefing delegates and ultimately leading the event team when onsite.

• To understand the costing process for an event and work closely with event team to deliver profitable events.

• To drive new sales opportunities equally through repeat business and through good account management creating multi event accounts.

• Help identify potential new markets and assist in designing new team building and evening entertainment products.

• To make appointments and attend client meetings and venue site visits, developing client relationships as part of account management.
• A self-starter, who is outgoing and approachable with the initiative to make decisions and deliver the required outcomes.

• Experience in the event industry (2 + years) would be preferred with the ability to understand how companies operate in this sector.

• A team-player, keen to contribute, share learning and learn from others with a flexible working attitude. Good written and verbal communication skills are a must.

• Experience of addressing the public is preferable but not essential and / or the ability to undertake briefings & presentations in an event management capacity,

• The ability to professionally manage all subcontractors engaged on the event, both in the pre-event planning and on the event.

• Ability to prioritise and organise own workload. You will need to be well organised and able to work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines.

• Have the flexibility to work away / work late on live events when required.

• A clean UK driving licence is essential.

Overtime on events (estimated an additional £5,000 – £7,000 per year) pension scheme, private healthcare, mobile phone, occasional remote working when events allow and an annual discretionary bonus depending on company results.
